In the vibrant music scene of Lampung, lies the story of The Superego. This Alternative Rock/Indie Rock/Fuzz Rock band has navigated the highs and lows of the music industry for over a decade, weaving timeless melodies. Currently led by Masfu (Vocals + Guitar), Duta Baskara (Lead Guitar), Dwi Ariusmanto (Bass), and Olid Ahmad (Drums), The Superego was founded in early 2011 in East Lampung.
Inspired by music giants like Ramones, Incubus, Arctic Monkeys, Sonic Youth, Blink 182, Misfits, Superdrag, and Nirvana, The Superego has become a haven for alternative music lovers. Despite lineup changes, their spirit remains undimmed. Tracks like "Gadis Pesta" and "Kawan Sejati" stand as testaments to their presence in Lampung's music scene, initially released on a Compact Disk.
After a brief hiatus in early 2012 due to the members' busy schedules, The Superego made a triumphant return in late 2018 with a new lineup, ready to shake Lampung's music scene once again. Even the Covid-19 pandemic couldn't hinder their progress. They continued to create, resulting in the album "Mulutmu Harimaumu," featuring 8 tracks, some of which are still in the recording phase at SPRG Record.
Today (July 21, 2024), The Superego delights music enthusiasts with their latest single, "Vespa Tua," the second single from the album "Mulutmu Harimaumu." Written by Masfu, the song draws from his imaginative journey on a Vespa to Metro City at night. "Vespa Tua" takes listeners on an imaginative adventure, accompanied by catchy guitar melodies and energetic vocals, showcasing The Superego's enduring magic.
