#BreakingNews : BLOODY ORGASM Makes A Groovy Return To Indonesia’s Underground Metal Scene With New Single “Nikmat Berujung Derita”
October 16, 2024 - After a long hiatus, Indonesia’s pioneering underground metal webzine, BLOODY ORGASM, formerly known as INDOGRINDER WEBZINE (est. 1998), has made a triumphant return, this time as a band with a fresh new single, “Nikmat Berujung Derita.” The highly anticipated video clip premiered today on the YouTube channel 1921Baliheadbanger.
A Journey from Webzine to Band
Founded in 1998 by Putra Pande, also known as BRUTALSICK, INDOGRINDER WEBZINE quickly became the go-to source for information on Indonesia’s extreme metal scene. In 2001, it was rebranded as BLOODY ORGASM WEBZINE, reflecting a shift toward a darker, more blood-soaked aesthetic. Driven by his love for goregrind, Putra Pande dreamed of forming a band under the same name. This dream came to life in 2004 when he teamed up with Devula, a.k.a. Tandha Pargotha.
However, due to Putra Pande's busy schedule, the band and the webzine went on hiatus in 2006. Now, after 20 years and amidst his work with the Gamelan Folk Metal band Ki Barak Selem, Putra Pande is bringing BLOODY ORGASM back to life, collaborating once again with Devula to create music that adds depth and diversity to the Bali underground metal scene.
The Sound of BLOODY ORGASM
Inspired by European goregrind bands such as CBT, Utopie, Ahumado Granujo, Libido Airbag, and Rempeprop, BLOODY ORGASM fuses groovy rhythms with beat-down tempos, creating an infectious urge to move. Staying true to his musical roots, Putra Pande infuses pentatonic melodies into the band’s heavy sound.
The lyrics of BLOODY ORGASM address themes like the dangers of free sex, sexual deviations, and sexually transmitted diseases. “This is a reminder for all of us to be more cautious and wise in our sexual lives,” said Putra Pande. “Let us enjoy ourselves and say 'no' to free sex!”
A Welcome Return to Bali’s Metal Scene
BLOODY ORGASM is not here to compete with Bali’s existing metal bands, but rather to bring a unique flavor to the island's underground metal scene. The band’s mission is to contribute to the diversity of Bali’s vibrant music culture.
