Dark Metal band FINITA has launched their latest single and music video, "Gates of Oblivion," on August 30th, 2024, setting the stage for their upcoming album, Children of the Abyss, expected in 2025.

This new track highlights the band's signature fusion of Extreme Metal with classical and gothic influences, establishing a distinct sound that Finita has built over the years. Lyrically, "Gates of Oblivion" dives into philosophical themes, drawing inspiration from Plato’s allegory of the cave. According to the band, the song symbolizes enlightenment, referencing the pursuit of knowledge and light: “Wisdom has always been associated with light, and we know who bears it.”

Finita further elaborates on the meaning behind the track, describing it as part of a larger conceptual narrative the band has been developing. “Gates of Oblivion” reflects the moment before Lucifer's return to heaven, a journey followed by those who chose to stand by him, not out of submission, but through a deliberate decision.

The single was produced by Thiago Bianchi at Estúdio Fusão, while the music video was directed by Paulo Issler, featuring performances by Jênifer Arruda, Manuela Kelling, and Pablo Castro. The band's captivating visual style was enhanced by cover art from Carlos Fides and photography by Lemon Marodin.

Since their formation in 2010 in Santa Maria, Brazil, Finita has cemented their place as a major force in the Extreme Metal scene, known for their theatrical live performances and collaborations with prominent bands like Abbath, Angra, and Crypta. The current lineup features Luana Palma on vocals, Bruno Portela on guitar, Fernando Back on bass, Guilherme Pereira on keyboards, and Pablo “Pablijo” Castro on drums.
