#BreakingNews : OVERTOP Releases Self-Titled Debut Album and "Powerless" Music Video

São Paulo-based band Overtop has officially launched their self-titled debut album, accompanied by a music video for the track "Powerless." The album delves into profound themes of suffering, loneliness, the search for meaning, and emotional transformation, with each song offering a unique perspective on the human condition and the internal struggle for peace and purpose. While rooted in grunge and post-grunge, the band has evolved their sound over the years, incorporating influences from hard rock, stoner, and sludge metal, ultimately embracing a contemporary alternative metal style.

The release marks a significant milestone in the band's journey, which began in 2022. Overtop's members bring deep experience, having emerged from the renowned band Beeswax, founded in 2005. Since their formation, Overtop has performed alongside some of Brazil’s most prominent metal acts, steadily building a name for themselves within the national metal scene.

The band’s current lineup features frontman and guitarist Andersong Gregório, guitarist Jo Campos, bassist Rodrigo Faveri, and drummer Tuti Fachin. The album was produced, mixed, and mastered at Shokran Studios by the internationally acclaimed Tiago Della Vega, known as the world’s fastest guitarist, according to the Guinness Book, and listed by Rolling Stone magazine among the 70 most influential guitarists globally.

The music video for "Powerless" was directed, filmed, and edited by Rogener Pavinski, with production by Pavinski Áudio Visual and a performance by actress Nayara Costa Galamba. Promotional photographs were taken by Gerson Bisol (Bisol Fotografias), and the album's cover art was created by guitarist Jo Campos.

This debut is set to solidify Overtop’s place in the Brazilian metal scene as they continue their ascent to new heights.
