#BreakingNews : THE HOST Unleashes "Blasphemare MMXXIII" – A Dark and Visceral Reawakening
The Host has returned to the forefront of the extreme metal scene with their latest release, "Blasphemare MMXXIII," a powerful reimagining of their original 2009 track "Blasphemare." Released this September, the new version comes with dramatically intensified arrangements and updated production, maintaining the song’s dense, dark, and visceral atmosphere while offering a more mature and refined experience.
With lyrics that are profoundly blasphemous, "Blasphemare MMXXIII" paints a vivid picture of desecration and rebellion against Christianity, symbolizing the rejection of religious imposition over ancient cultures. It critiques the lasting impact of Christianization on ancestral traditions and questions the moral constraints imposed by the faith. Each invoked entity in the lyrics plays a significant role, collectively embodying power, chaos, and rebellion, and is referenced in an inverted form of the Christian epiclesis, amplifying the ritualistic mockery.
The Host, which first emerged in 2004 blending Black and Death Metal, has a legacy of dark, aggressive, and atmospheric music. Following their 2010 hiatus, the band reassembled in 2022, setting sights on completing their long-anticipated album ARS TENEBRARUM and sharing new and unfinished compositions with the world.
This recent release is only the beginning. Fans can anticipate two more singles, each paired with a visual experience: a dynamic visualizer and a collaborative video featuring notable guest musicians André Da4mien (Paradise In Flames), Pedro Duarte (Payback), and Marcela Meguria (Arguerom/Libre). Stay tuned for more as The Host continues to channel the chaos and darkness of humanity, reminding us of the inevitable, destructive forces that shape our existence.
