#BreakingNews : SIR LORD BUZZ Releases New Single “-2+1”: A Grunge-Powered Exploration of Anxiety and Reflection
Malang’s rising Grunge trio, Sir Lord Buzz, has unveiled their latest single, “-2+1,” a raw and immersive reflection on the anxieties and restless thoughts that follow life’s choices. Formed in 2015, the band consists of Naufal (guitar, vocals), Alifio (bass, vocals), and Hisyam (drums, percussion), who have consistently electrified the Grunge scene with their distinct, gritty sound.
With a journey that began with singles like “Berdosa” (2018), “Tanah Semburat” (2020), “Pertunjukan” (2021), and their debut album AWAS!!! in 2021, Sir Lord Buzz has continued to evolve musically. Following the release of “Merayakan Benci” earlier in 2024, they now present “-2+1,” a single that resonates deeply with the dilemmas of adulthood.
“‘-2+1’ portrays the self-reflection that hits during solitary moments, like lying down or looking in the mirror,” frontman Naufal explains. The title holds a symbolic meaning: “-2” signifies past wrongdoings, while “+1” expresses gratitude for the awareness that comes from these experiences, inspiring self-improvement.
As Sir Lord Buzz matures, so does their sound. Alifio highlights this growth, describing the new single as an experimental blend of diverse influences, promising a fresh and exhilarating listening experience. Hisyam adds, “The drum parts are tricky and full of surprises.”
Despite embracing new elements, Sir Lord Buzz remains true to their roots, delivering dirty, thunderous guitar and bass lines alongside tight, relentless drum beats. Their music is crafted to reflect the authenticity of their live performances, with a sound that stays heavy and raw.
Collaborating on this project, Sir Lord Buzz teamed up with Rio Armand Ayubi for mixing and mastering, and Nabila Zarah Meita for the cover art. “-2+1” is now available on all major digital streaming platforms, ready to captivate listeners and mark a new chapter for the band as they anticipate their second full-length album.
