#BreakingNews : PAGURON'S Band from Bandung Set to Release Debut Single "Dasamuka"
Paguron's, a band hailing from Sekeloa, Bandung, is making waves with their unique fusion of Sundanese traditional music and modern sounds. Formed in early 2024, the band's name, Paguron's, draws inspiration from the various rudat and barong art schools found in their hometown.
The five-member band consists of Rian (vocals), Adhika (bass), Fauzan (rhythm guitar), Irvan (lead guitar), and Wil (drums). United by their shared love for music and a desire to preserve Sundanese culture, Paguron's combines traditional elements with contemporary music to ensure that Sundanese heritage thrives alongside modern art forms.
Their debut single, "Dasamuka," explores the legendary tale of Rahwana (Ravana), a central figure in Sundanese storytelling and wayang performances. The song delves into Rahwana's unrelenting desire to possess Dewi Sinta (Goddess Sita), portraying him as a multi-headed figure symbolizing immense knowledge and ambition. His many arms reflect arrogance and insatiable willpower, creating a character rich in symbolism and cultural depth.
Paguron's hopes that "Dasamuka" will resonate with listeners and spark greater appreciation for Indonesian culture, introducing it to broader audiences. Stay tuned for their release, as they aim to bridge tradition and modernity through their music.
