WALUNATENG DIRAH is a one-man band project by Nararya, conceptualized during the pandemic on February 8, 2021, in Denpasar, Bali. The band combines Ethnic Mystical Black Metal—a blend of powerful Black and Dark Metal—with melodic pentatonic Balinese ethnic elements and piercing scream vocals.

The name WALUNATENG DIRAH is derived from Balinese mythology, particularly the legendary story of Calonarang. Walunateng Dirah, also known as Matah Gede, is a central figure depicted as a widowed queen from Dirah who mastered advanced black magic. Depending on the situation, she can serve as either an antagonist or a protagonist.

True to its name, WALUNATENG DIRAH explores the mystical spiritual realm of Bali, focusing on LEAK/PENGELEAKAN, mythology, and supernatural tales like the story of Calonarang. All music and lyrics are composed and arranged by Nararya, delivering an authentic and personal creation.

On December 20, 2024, WALUNATENG DIRAH released its debut single, "Whispers of the Leak," digitally under Bali Headbanger Music.
