Manila, Philippines – February 2025 – Independent rock duo The Thinkers have officially released their fourth single, 'Hey! Wait!', on February 2, 2025, across all streaming platforms. This latest release follows their ongoing international campaign for their second track, Let's Go!, which has been gaining traction worldwide.
The Thinkers: A Rising Force in Rock
Formed in October 2022, The Thinkers is composed of Troy and Anthony—both seasoned musicians in the Philippine underground music scene. Troy, formerly the frontman of Suicidal Genius (2005-2017), transitioned from his solo career to solidify The Thinkers as a duo. Meanwhile, Anthony, a veteran drummer since 2006, has remained active in the music industry, particularly since 2012.
Despite their professional careers—Troy as a licensed architect and Anthony as a software manager—the duo continues to push their passion for music, delivering a direct and raw rock sound reminiscent of 1990s alternative rock, drawing comparisons to Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, and The Black Keys.
International Recognition & Expanding Reach
With previous singles like Come to Me, Let's Go!, and Coffee Song (June 9, 2024), The Thinkers have steadily gained recognition, achieving strong traction despite the lack of major playlist features. Their global promotion efforts have led to Let's Go! receiving airplay in Latin America, Central America, and across key markets, including Brazil, Puerto Rico, Italy, the Netherlands, Ireland, Mexico, the USA, the UK, Australia, Peru, and Fiji. College radio stations in the USA and Asian markets such as Singapore, Japan, and Taiwan have also shown increasing interest in their music.
Adding to their accolades, The Thinkers represented the Philippines as the second Filipino artist to be featured at Asian Music Day 2024 at Bunka Wave in Colombia, further solidifying their growing international presence.
