Northern Irish alternative rock/metal act WhiteRoomNightmare has announced the release of their latest single, "Where Only Machines Have Been," set to drop on Friday, March 7, 2025, via Horus Music Ltd.

The track marks the first single from the band's upcoming third album and serves as the conceptual foundation for its space-themed narrative.

WhiteRoomNightmare’s mastermind Paul Anketell revealed that the song originated from a collaborative project on Discord, where musicians were encouraged to create songs based on the theme "lost in space." Though the collective album never materialized, Anketell was inspired to develop the story further, imagining the thoughts of an astronaut drifting away from a lunar orbit space station. This initial idea soon evolved into a full-fledged concept album.

Since its debut album, The Way Of All Things? (2021), WhiteRoomNightmare has continued to gain critical acclaim. With follow-ups like the EP First Impressions Last (2022) and second album Heart Mind Devil Sea (2023), Anketell has carved a niche in the alternative rock/metal scene, earning praise for his introspective themes, dynamic compositions, and emotionally charged soundscapes.
