#BreakingNews : BLYTHED Releases Debut Ep "TRAITORS" After Lineup Changes

Bandung, Indonesia – February 22, 2025 – After a long and challenging journey, Bandung-based metal band BLYTHED has officially released their debut EP, Traitors, independently on February 22, 2025. The production process was not without hurdles, as the band faced a significant lineup change when their original vocalist, Mughni Aulia "Aul," left the band after completing the demo for the EP.

Following Aul’s departure, BLYTHED nearly disbanded. However, fate had other plans, as the arrival of new members Fajar (Vocals) and Chandra (Bass) injected fresh energy into the band. Now, with a solid lineup featuring Fajar (Vocals), Taufik (Guitar), Agitsna (Guitar), Chandra (Bass), and Iqbal (Drums), BLYTHED is charging forward with renewed vigor.

The Traitors EP represents an evolution in BLYTHED’s musical journey. Previously, the band introduced themselves with the single Fvckdemic on May 23, 2022. Heavily influenced by legendary acts such as Lamb of God, Trivium, At the Gates, The Haunted, Burgerkill, and Deadsquad, the band continues to explore and refine their musical identity. Lyrically, Traitors delves into themes of betrayal (Traitors), apocalyptic mythology (Ragnarok), social resistance (Parasit), and depression (Lingkaran Setan).

Comprising four tracks – Traitors, Ragnarok, Parasit, and Lingkaran Setan – the EP serves as a defining moment for BLYTHED. The title track, Traitors, stands out as the most accessible song on the record and a key highlight of the release. The EP was recorded independently, with guitar and production handled by Taufik Suandi in his home studio, while drum and vocal tracks were recorded at Okta Studio. Mixing was done by Dean Muliawan, and the cover artwork was created by Komarasani.

This EP marks a significant milestone for BLYTHED as they solidify their place in Indonesia’s underground metal scene.

About BLYTHED Formed in Bandung in 2021 by Taufik and Iqbal, BLYTHED emerged from the remnants of a previous project, Maturity. After parting ways with their original members due to differing musical visions, Taufik and Iqbal rebranded the band as BLYTHED, exploring sub-genres like metalcore, thrash metal, and groove metal. The band’s first single, Fvckdemic (2022), was followed by lineup changes, leading to the current formation.
